Product marking regulations
As mentioned in this in-depth study, Italian legislation stipulates that snow chains, in order to be considered legally valid, must have UNI 11313 product certification, admitting as equal the certification according to the Austrian Ö-Norm V5117 standard.
In fact, these are the reference standards for consumer chains and set out the safety, marking and control requirements.
In terms of marking, both Ö-Norm V5117 and UNI 11313 require that the logo representing the certification be present on the product and visible when it is mounted on the wheel.
König snow chains and compliance with regulations
Although the regulatory framework stipulates that one of the two certifications is sufficient to meet the legal requirements, König products have both Ö-Norm V5117 and UNI 11313 certifications.
In addition, some products that can be used in heavier vehicles also have Ö-Norm V5119 certification, we are referring to products with XG-12 Pro, XD-16, XD-16 Pro and XB-16.
Marking of König snow chains
As mentioned above, snow chains must be marked both on the product and on the packaging to meet the regulatory requirement.

Depending on the different models of König snow chains, the product marking can be found on various components.

On the products of the External family (König K-Summit), the V5117 and UNI markings are stamped into the central body of the chain;
On the products of the Intuitive family (König Easy-fit), the V5117 and UNI markings are stamped on the pedal slider;
On products in the Automatic and Manual families, the V5117 and UNI markings are stamped on the outer chain.
Packaging marking

On the products of the External family (König K-Summit), the Ö-Norm V5117 and UNI markings can be found on the back of the product instructions in the packaging;
On the products of the Intuitive family (König Easy-fit), the Ö-Norm V5117 and UNI markings are stamped on the back of the product instructions in the packaging;
On products in the Automatic and Manual families, the Ö-Norm V5117 and UNI markings are on the main product label on the front of the case.
